All products are natural and vegetarian, with some like oils and salts being vegan. They are not tested on animals, and the only animal products used are beeswax and honey.

Greeted by soothing sound of nature playing in the background, the Edinburgh Natural Skincare Co. is a good destination for visitors looking to take a nice-smelling skincare product home as a souvenir or gift. It does not get more Scottish than the Super Scottish Porridge and Honey Soap (for £6.95), which is suitable for both face and body.

Other nice-smelling soaps include St Clements with the smell of orange and other citrus fruits, and the moisturising Luxury No. 1 with a blend of essential oils like Lavender and Geranium and others. Soaps, along with the bars of hand cream balm that melt in your hand are suitable for handlugge, as they are solid.

There is a special range available for anti-aging with the very popular Symmetry anti-ageing face serum, and a selection of products for men, which features beard balm and oil.
The ‘Baby I love you’ range is suitable for sensitive baby skin, but enjoys popularity especially with people suffering from skin conditions such as psoriasis and eczema. The staff are happy to advise on all the products according to your skin and needs.

For people looking to reduce use packaging, at the Edinburgh Natural Skincare Co. products can be packaged for free in hemp drawstring bags. One particular type of soap is available by the gram and will be sliced off and weighed for you. To reduce the use of single use plastic bottles for shampoos, a lovely great smelling option is the Lemonazing Chunky Shampoo bar, fragranced with Sicilian lemon. This is packaged in a small canvas bag. The lovely staff estimate the 100g bar may last up to 3 months.

Gift sets are available, which consist of your choice of bar of soap, hand cream bar, lip balm and whipped body butter for £35. A novelty are the huge beeswax blocks that look like nature’s gold bar, available for £35 per unit.

Established in 2012, The Edinburgh Natural Skincare Company has been present on markets in and around Edinburgh, and the shop on Cockburn Street which opened in early 2018 is their first bricks and mortar one.
