Why Vittoria on the Bridge?

The lively restaurant between the Grassmarket and the Royal Mile offers a large menu of Italian classics, starting from pasta, pizza, to steak and seafood, paired with a few other classics such as fish & chips, and mac ‘n’ cheese.

Guests are quickly seated at one of the many tables, and are spoilt for choice studying the extensive menu. While choosing, the focaccia to share can be recommended. The friendly and attentive staff are at hand to advise on menu options.

Antipasti, over twenty pasta dishes, pizza (with the classic Margherita costing £8.95; also recommended is the spicy Diavola), and risotto are among the favourites.

The midweek lunch deal with two courses is available for £12.95, and is a great option for a quick, filling lunch in the Old Town. Vittoria is open until 12pm (11pm Sun - Tue), and this makes it a great option even for a late dinner.

For those out and about early, breakfast is served from 10am, with some of the menu options being filled rolls, porridge, fruit compote or omelette (for £4.95 each).

Vittoria being expressly family friendly, children are swiftly given a set of crayons and an activity booklet. Three courses from the children’s menu (costing a reasonable £8.50) offer plenty of kids’ favourites like a choice of pasta, pizza, burger, chicken breast, followed by dessert. Top Tip: The starter polpette (meatballs) in tomato sauce is a hit with little carnivores.

In addition to the large space on the street level, a further seating area is located downstairs, and some in front of the restaurant ideal for people watching on busy George IV Bridge.

Generous portions, a quick service, reasonably priced, consistently good food, and the ability to accommodate a large family or a group of travellers make Vittoria a safe bet for Italian food in the Old Town.
